Cooking in a French Mansion

I had the priviledge of cooking as a work exchange (though workaway.com) for a family who had recently bought, and renovating an 1800’s French Mansion in the village of Castillon near Bordeaux.

Here are the mediteranian (and heavily French) recipes I made whilst staying in this gorgeous home. My hosts not only showed me the secrets to French cooking but also how the French make the simplest things, like a long lunch, beautiful.

Creamy tomato based Tuscan Chicken is always a crowd pleaser.

Zucchini or courgette depending on where you’re from, is healthy and tasty when paired with feta and fresh herbs.

A dynamic combination of French mustard, vinegar, oil and garlic.

Boeuf Bourguignon
